Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Series: Unmasking Our Biases
We are so excited to go on this journey with you as you explore the tools, tips, templates, and more that will help you achieve "Equity and Excellence in Teaching" (EET).
Here is what to expect from lessons in this course:
- Lesson 1 provides an activity you can implement to contribute to the success of the overall school culture, sets an inclusive tone, and impacts students positively. This activity is a SWOT Analysis.
- Lesson 2 walks you through an activity you can use to diversify your teaching practice and hold the space for diverse cultures and voices to be shared and represented. This activity is incorporating multiple perspectives.
- Lesson 3 exposes you to a notable research-based activity you can implement to deepen your students’ thinking skills and adjust their behaviors. This activity is strengths resumes.
- Lesson 4 guides you on how to creatively involve stakeholders in your teaching to contribute to students' success. This activity is bringing in community experts and role models.
- Lesson 5 discusses an equitable assessment activity you can implement for students to share their learning with choice, voice, and authenticity. This activity is involving students in the assessment process to implement bias-resistant grading practices.
