I have been where you are and have 20 years of experience to show it…
I know what it is like to want quality relationships with my students, parents, families, community partners, administrators, and colleagues. I also know what it feels like to have students who are disengaged, unmotivated, and underachieving. They once sat in the back of my classroom with their heads lowered and voices silent.
Sadly, I experienced these lows and failures (opportunities for growth) when it came to relationships, instructional practices, assessments, and more. But I also experienced the highest of highs and great success in my teaching, with my students and stakeholders, and in my school setting. That is why I am so very passionate about helping schools increase student achievement, enhance teacher instruction, and prepare their students for successful future outcomes.
The EQUAL methodology was born from these experiences, opportunities for growth (AKA failures), lessons, successes, research, and so much more. I am eager and excited to share this learning with you!
Before I say anymore, it's only right that I finally and formally introduce myself to you.
Many people I have worked with call me an award-winning educator (this sounds so official). I proudly say I am National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), International Speaker, Best-Selling Author, and CEO of LCT-E Learning Solutions.
To date, I have been in education for two decades. I learned early on in my career that I am passionate about helping educators bridge cultural gaps and build more trusting relationships with their students. How did I know this early on? Because it was exactly what I needed to do in my own teaching, classroom, and school. So I took the lessons I learned from my experiences and the vast research I have done and continue to do as an expert in the field to make a positive impact on schools and districts across the globe. In fact, because of our dedication to equity and excellence in teaching and learning, LCT-E Learning Solutions has trained over 30,000 educators worldwide using our EQUAL methodology which includes techniques focused on culturally responsive practices and emerging technologies.
