What Educators Like You Are Saying

As educators, we start to feel the anxiety of returning to school towards the end of Summer. That’s when we’re tasked with action steps and the weight of preparing our classroom sets in. The restful initiative was perfect timing for me. I needed to be reminded that it is okay to pause, even when the to-do list seems daunting. She encouraged me that in order for me to be my best self I had to designate time for me, not wait for the time to be given to me. For this, I am thankful and I plan on making this a habit this school year! - Ms. Edwards, Teacher-Leader

Your resting doesn’t mean quitting—it means you're recalibrating.

What Educators Like You Are Saying

As a former teacher, and current employee of a Fortune 500 company in education, I often feel overwhelmed by the demands of my profession. I love what I do, but sometimes I feel like I’m running on empty. That’s why I was refreshed to see the different types of rest defined and recommended by Michelle. I realized that I loved engaging in many different types of rest to help me feel less stressed, and just needed a reminder to consciously target each type. Focusing on all of these types of rest has helped me to be happier, healthier, and more productive. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to improve their well-being and performance, especially teachers! Thanks for the wonderful reminder to take care of ourselves, Michelle.  - Ms. Silver, Microsoft

You're not broken—you're responding to a system that profits from your exhaustion.

Restful Teacher® and Restful Leader™ Founder's Note

Dr. Michelle Chanda Singh

I’m glad you’re here.

Hi, I’m Dr. Michelle—educator, professor, and founder of Restful Teacher® and Restful Leader™. After more than 20 years in education, I’ve seen firsthand what burnout looks like in brilliant teachers and leaders—myself included. I created this collection not as a luxury, but as a lifeline—one rooted in reflection, rest, and our shared humanity.

To my fellow educators and leaders: I see you. You are worthy of care every single day. Rest isn’t selfish—it’s strategic. And sometimes, the most meaningful gift we can give ourselves is permission to pause.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause.

What Educators Like You Are Saying

I learned rest is more than physical and mental resting. I especially liked learning about creative rest, I can definitely see how that would benefit my lifestyle. Ms. Brown, Teacher

Rest isn’t a reward for finishing everything.

Rest is a requirement for leading well.

This collection is an invitation to choose yourself—not instead of your students or your work, but so you can keep showing up with intention and integrity.
